Wedding Party Bios

As we are getting closer and closer to the wedding, we have decided that over the final month leading up to the wedding that we are going to feature bios of each groomsman and bridesmaid. Tune in frequently to "meet the peeps" that will be standing beside us as we get married. We figure this will be a perfect way to gain some insight into why they are so important to us, or why we were forced into picking them.

Also, a reminder, if you want to rent your tux through Simon and Sons, call them ASAP (by the end of the month) and also go get measured at your local tailor. The 8 measurements needed are: your height, weight, neck, sleeve, jacket size, jacket insleeve, pant waist and pant outseam. The number at Simon and Sons is 617-969-8844.
UPDATE: Simon and Sons has extended the deadline to get your tux information until the end of next week (September 3rd).

Tasting at the Four Seasons

This weekend, Yejin and I went with her parents to the Four Seasons to sample the cuisine that would be potentially on the menu. As many of you know, the options were "beef", "fish" or "vegetarian". However, we had the task of defining that further. We went into the Aujourd'hui Room (where the reception will be held) to sample some choices that we had thought would represent those categories. After eating plates full of great food and even better food, we are proud to announce the food menu:

Beef
Fish
Vegetarian

That is all you need to know. That, and you won't be disappointed.

Wedding License

This morning we went to Newton's City Hall to get our wedding license. Something about it was strangely easy. All you have to do is: 1) give the clerk $35. 2) fill out a form with your names, address, social security number and what your parent's names are. 3) raise your hand and read a sentence saying that you come without reservations. In and out in 15 minutes.

We both felt that the ease of the process was odd. I recently spent about 2 hours at the DMV just to renew my driver's license and I needed an eye test and updated photo. In this case, I sort of expected the clerk to say: "Ok, do you swear that you really really love her?" or "Please tell me her favorite food and the last book she read." I mean, hello, where was the test?

Either way, another step closer to October 2nd. (and by the way, the answers are: Yes. Pasta Bolognese, and The Girl Who Played with Fire.)

Tuxedo Information

So, you open your invitation and see it says black tie and you don't know what that means? Well, you have come to the right place. Back tie means "formal attire. Men wear tuxedos, women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separates." It also means if you have a mustache, it should be neatly combed and perhaps even gelled.

So now you wonder if you have a suit that looks passable for a tuxedo. Well, we have made it even easier to look sharp. We have arranged a deal with Simon & Sons in Newton (close to boston) for tuxedo rentals. All you need to do is mention the Kim-Berman wedding on October 2nd to get the preferred rate. They will tell you what measurements they need and the options of tuxes. (there are a couple of options at different rates). Measurements are due in by August 22nd at the latest, so go to your local tailor and get measured.

The phone number for Simon & Sons is 617-969-8844. The fax is 617-969-2285.
