I first met Brian at Boston College as a freshman. We lived together in an area of our dorm called “The Pit”. This hallway consisted of only four dorm rooms and one laundry room. As a result of our proximity, we became great friends. Amazingly though, we rarely did laundry.
One of my favorite Brian stories is from the first week of freshman year. We were sitting together in the dorms after having spent much of the day together. I said to Brian, “Hey Steve, you wanna go grab some dinner?” He looked around the room and looked back at me and said, “We have been hanging out every day for this entire week, and you think my name is Steve?” After this, 90% of people on the Boston College campus called Brian “Steve” the first semester.
Brian is engaged to Erin, who will also be at the wedding. She is rumored to be reconsidering her decision - as she is undoubtedly shocked at his inability to clean and his love of watching the movie “Spaceballs” repeatedly. Brian recently decided to go to law school after seeing a great episode of Boston Legal.
When I see Brian I will be sure to call him Steve.
